Happy Halloween!

A favorite holiday for both of us–we both have a weakness for Halloween fabric, Halloween decorations, you name it. And Halloween quilts? Definitely worth the time! Doris recently shared her Ghastlies version of our Mums for Melissa pattern:

Ghastlies Alexander Henry Mums for Melissa a Ghastlie Reunion Quilt

Cool huh? Looks a little different than the bright, cheery quilt on the pattern cover:

At retreat last weekend, we spotted this on one of the work tables:

Mary_Mums for Melissa halloween Quilt

That’s a Mums for Melissa block!  In Halloween fabric!  Sure enough, Mary was busy piecing together this quilt, with an extra Chrysanthemum block and a little added width (to make it Twin size).  It looks wonderful–love the way she used one fabric in her Mums instead of making it scrappy as the pattern is.

It is so much fun to see our patterns interpreted by other quilters!  What fun “focus” print do you have in your stash that you could use in a Mums for Melissa Quilt?!?

Play it safe and have a FUN Halloween,

Trina & Doris
