Cover “Girl” Retakes

Well, Cover Quilts, anyway.

At this point in our business we are still doing our own photography (and accounting, and bag-stuffing, and pattern layout, etc. — we do use a professional printer!) and it takes time, and patience.  Working with the Iowa weather is always a challenge…   This weekend we had nice enough weather to get some outdoor shots, retakes of our new release, Fox in a BoxFront Cover Fox in a Box Fox and Geese Quilt Block Modern Baby QuiltOur fancy photography studio (aka Trina’s front porch):

Waiting for the right combination of the sun going behind a cloud just as the breeze stopped for a few moments made getting two good flat shots quite a challenge!

But we got the shots we needed, including some photos of the “cover girl” for our next pattern, coming soon:

Some lucky shoppers and retreaters in Ames, Iowa this weekend got the pleasure of seeing this quilt “in the flesh”… and if you follow us, you’ve seen this quilt before in another colorway (hint, hint).  Any guesses?

  1. It was great fun being one of the sneak peekers!! I believe it was Doris’ ‘zine article where I first saw the first version. Maybe I’ll make mine in purple (grin) . . . if I find just the right focus fabric!

  2. One more thing to say … that is an awesome shot of Fox In A Box that shows both the front & the back! Was that a gentle breeze?
